Clients were super fun to work with and have a busy house with 3 kids, an over-sized Golden Retriever and a mischievous long-haired fluffball of a cat. The photoshoot was a scene from a Lucille Ball episode 😉! The dog kept getting on the sofa with dirty paws, he then somehow got out of the house in a pouring rain storm only to come back soaking wet, apparently, he has opposing thumbs and can open doors? God only knows what he did and where he went but he was a muddy, wet mess. The cat wouldn’t get off the bed and when the photographer picked him up, he ended up with large amounts of cat hair on his sweater.
The project started out with a refresh of the kitchen (new countertop, backsplash, lighting and plumbing, touch up existing cabinetry) and remodel of the master bathroom. In the end we added all new lighting in the dining room, living room, all new artwork and a refresh of the master bedroom and closet, and all new paint throughout.
The priority was a new master bath, but they also hated their dark, outdated kitchen. We knew there wasn’t a budget for new cabinets and honestly, I felt that but for a few nicks and water damage here and there, it didn’t require new cabinets and that the contactor could touch those areas up easily enough. Instead we went in the search for granite that w
as lighter but still worked with existing cabinets and a backsplash that wasn’t so blah.
In the master bathroom we got rid of the clunky built-in tub…which is a common theme in many bathrooms that need updating. We created more light in the shower both through an added fixture and frosted glass that allows more light, and new cabinetry, tile, lighting and plumbing.
